Nowadays 2 museums , 1 theatre , 33 haws of culture, 100 libraries, 84 clubs, 2 children’s music and 1 artistic school, 1 picture gallery , 1 park of culture and rest exist in Lankaran. There are 20 archaeological monuments of state, 53 architectural monuments, 2 monumental, 2 stone sculptural and 9 archaeological monuments of local importance in Lankaran.

The most interesting historical monuments are: Light-House, Circle fortress (dungeon), mosques in Big and Small Market blocks, the Jewish Synagogue and Catholic Church, Mir Ahmad Khan’s Palace, the Ballabur Castle, the Lankaran Castle, the Sign Cemetery, Sheikh Zahid’s and Sheikh Khaliph’s temples and etc. Lately the building of Lankaran Regional historical museum of local lore was put under major repairs. The Museum was constructed on the basis of new exposition plan. There was organized “Heydar Aliyev governmental management school” and a wide corner on independence.

Major repairs were carried out in Hazi Aslanov house – museum , children’s music school and central library of Centralized Library System, district house of culture, park of rest, city palace and educational institutions. New “Regional Internet Center” was created at the Central Library. People rationally spend their free time (weekends) at the theatral and cultural mass arrangements, concerts with the participation of music groups on meetings with war veterans, disputes, literary and artistic parties, entertainment and music arrangements, jubilees of writers and poets, state celebrations, significant and historical days, preparing and carrying out in culture establishments.
